jok´tan (יקטן, yoḳtān, meaning unknown, probably "little"):

The second of the two “sons” of Eber, and “father” of 13 tribes (Genesis 10:25, Genesis 10:26, Genesis 10:29; 1 Chronicles 1:19, 1 Chronicles 1:20, 1 Chronicles 1:23). There is an Arab tradition that Joktan (Arab. Kahtan) was the progenitor of all the purest tribes of Central and Southern Arabia.
