= Judas

Among the apostles there were two who bore this name,

(1.) Judas (Jud_1:1; Mat_13:55; Joh_14:22; Act_1:13), called also Lebbaeus or Thaddaeus (Mat_10:3; Mar_3:18); and

(2.) Judas Iscariot (Mat_10:4; Mar_3:19). He who is called “the brother of James” (Luk_6:16), may be the same with the Judas surnamed Lebbaeus. The only thing recorded regarding him is in Joh_14:22.
