kar´ta (קרתּה, ḳartāh ; "city"):

A city in the territory of the tribe of Zebulun, assigned to the Levites of the family of Merari (Joshua 21:34). It is not identified. Possibly it is a variant of Kattath (Joshua 19:15), or of Kartan (which see), and perhaps also with Kitron (Judges 1:30).
