Lamentation
From BibleEncyclopedia.Net
lam-en-tā´shun (Heb. qinah, an elegy or dirge) :
The first example of this form of poetry is the lament of David over Saul and Jonathan (2Sa_1:17-27). It was a frequent accompaniment of mourning (Amo_8:10). In 2Sa_3:33, 2Sa_3:34 is recorded David's lament over Abner. Prophecy sometimes took the form of a lament when it predicted calamity (Eze_27:2, Eze_27:32; Eze_28:12; Eze_32:2, Eze_32:16).
