Nahshon

Sorcerer, the son of Aminadab, and prince of the children of Judah at the time of the first numbering of the tribes in the wilderness (Exo_6:23). His sister Elisheba was the wife of Aaron. He died in the wilderness (Num_26:64, Num_26:65). His name occurs in the Greek form Naasson in the genealogy of Christ (Matt, Job_1:4; Luk_3:32).

na´shon (נחשׁון, naḥshōn; Septuagint and New Testament, Ναασσών, Naassṓn):

A descendant of Judah; brother-in-law of Aaron and ancestor of David and of Jesus Christ Exo_6:23; Num_1:7; 1Ch_2:10-11; Rth_4:20; Mat_1:4; Luk_3:32.
